Expedition FAA Returns January 16! - Creating Successful, Revenue-Producing Events
Highlighting the Success of St. Augustine’s award-winning Nights of Lights
Registration Available to FAA Member Attractions and Member DMOs
This engaging event will be focused on innovative strategies to enhance attendance and revenue at attractions, especially during low-attendance periods. We will cover a variety of exciting topics, including how to create or leverage seasonal and off-season events as well as strategies for collaborating with community partners.
Through a series of small-group, interactive roundtables, we will explore ways to align with existing community events to maximize attendance, identify funding and grant opportunities to support new events or expand current programming, and discuss how to develop wellness-focused activities to attract broader audiences and increase revenue.
Suzanne Neve, CEO of Florida Festivals & Events Association will present Creating Community Engagement and Belonging through Special Events. Collaborating with community organizations can transform your events into platforms for meaningful impact. This 30-minute discussion will dive into how partnerships can amplify your event’s purpose, increase community engagement, and expand your audience. Discover practical ways to align your event goals with a nonprofit’s mission, creatively incorporate their message into your programming, and cultivate relationships that support both your event’s growth and their cause. Whether you’re seeking to enhance attendance or make a difference, learn how collaboration can create win-win opportunities for everyone involved.
We’ll also be joined by a panel of St. Augustine leaders who have successfully executed creative events for their community.
Honorable Dylan Rumrell, Mayor, St. Augustine Beach; Co-founder of St. Augustine Songwriters Festival; Board Member of St. Augustine Amphitheatre
Honorable Len Weeks, former St. Augustine Mayor, instrumental in the development of Nights of Lights in 1994
Susan Phillips, CEO, St. Augustine Ponte Vedra and the Beaches VCB

With keynote speaker and practical takeaways, this is a must-attend event for anyone looking to boost their attraction’s appeal and profitability.
Registration is limited and will close when capacity is reached.
We’ll wrap up our day with a group dinner (provided) and an open forum discussion to share and learn more about hosting events.
After the day of learning we invite you to join us for a delightful evening as we hop on FAA Member Old Town Trolley Tours to experience St. Augustine’s award-winning spectacular holiday event. The 30th Annual Nights of Lights dazzles with more than three million lights adorning every corner of the historic district.
Following this enchanting ride, we’ll gather at FAA Member St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum to network and enjoy the wonderful Lighthouse Illuminations. The evening will be capped off with delicious desserts and libations, providing the perfect setting to relax and connect with fellow attendees.
