Rebounding From Hurricane Irma
Sept. 14, 2017
Dear Fellow FAA Member,
It's been a very difficult week for all Floridians. Many of our members, particularly in Monroe, Collier and Miami-Dade Counties have suffered substantial damage to their attractions and will experience a long road to recovery. Our team members have experienced loss of homes and personal property.
We're a resilient industry and I'm confident we will overcome these obstacles. As we restore our operation and continue cleanup, I want to encourage you. You're not alone. Irma was something we all experienced together and together we will be triumphant.
The FAA team has been in touch with almost all of our affected attractions and are maintaining a status page to keep VISIT FLORIDA and the media apprised of our progress reopening our world-class attractions.
We have assembled a Hurricane Irma Resources page to help our members find the information they need to quickly tap into available recovery information.
In addition to the FAA, please work directly with your county DMO for assistance in messaging your recovery, restoration and reopening information. VISIT FLORIDA is carefully crafting external messaging to ensure our state's brand is properly positioned in light of lost lives, damaged infrastructure, displaced residents, and the availability of fuel and essential services.
If there's anything the FAA can do to serve you, please give our staff a call. We'll do our best.
Thank you for your efforts to restore Florida's attractions industry to its world-renowned preeminence.
Together, we are #FloridaStrong!
